What to do Next? (PreTSD and Practical Applications)

Look into pre-traumatic stress disorder in relation to sustainability.
- What does it entail?
- How does this impact the practical?

The article above, is looking into pre-traumatic stress disorder from the perspective of climate change.

It mentions a meteorologist (involved in the green movement) and how he posted 15 tweets hinting to the notion of PreTSD. He had feeling's of despair, as though we didn't deserve our planet, 'There are (many) days when I think it would be better off without us.'.

In the article it states 'In 2009, a group of prominent doctors and climate scientists gathered in Washington DC for a forum on the psychological dimensions of climate change. Their discussion resulted in the first major report on the subject, which found that although an estimated 200 million Americans will be exposed to "serious psychological distress from climate related events," the US health care system was only "minimally prepared" to address these issues.'

These articles are mainly focusing on the professionals and their own struggles is PreTSD, however, many mention that the fact not many people are listening or taking action is making the symptoms worse and scientists feel like they're talking to nobody.
- If I were able to make a campaign to have people listen and take small action then maybe these symptoms would be reduced?
- Need to look into specific ways of demonstrating to people that they have a choice.

So the focus for the practical should be on small changes people can make to collectively have a large impact, trying to reduce the sense of fear and unattainable-ness surrounding the topic of sustainability.
- Could pull in the research found on money and who the movement targets.
- Could pull in the well being of the scientists.
- Also talk about the strategies people use to encourage specific behaviours.
- Bring in the idea that you don't want people to bury their head in the sand.
