- Simple colour palette (majority greens) and logo
- Lots of nature involved, mostly trees as the company plants trees as you use their search engine
- Use realistic photos within the brand, on websites etc. Makes them appear more transparent.
Adapt
- More garish in its appearance, could potentially have people not take it seriously
- The content is more negative, tells people the bad things happening then how to fix it
- The wording in most of their posts are clever and witty, this is reflected in the style
Non-Pavilion
Humanity has reached a tipping point – we must drastically reduce our carbon footprint and halt devastating biodiversity loss. At the same time, we must also meet the needs of a global population hurtling towards 11 billion by 2100. We believe that design can play a major role in shifting mindsets away from over-production and consumption, towards a regenerative economy that doesn’t need growth to thrive.
Defined by its outer edges only, Non-Pavilion plays on the idea of ‘less’ as enrichment, not loss. Drawing on the simplicity of Swiss Baugespanne – poles erected to help the public visualise the mass of a proposed development – Non-Pavilion is a testing ground where six alternatives to growth-driven consumerism are explored.
As creators of new and desirable things, the design community is complicit in the current crisis, even if often torn between love for their work and despair over the state of the planet. We believe in the power of design as a driver of change, to decouple the idea of progress from profit, think beyond recycling and circular design, and grow the appeal of a richer life with less.
What are we ready to let go of, to help the planet regenerate? What will we replace consumption with, in order to make us feel good? Can we shrink our lifestyles back to a size that nature can support? Is degrowth the way back to abundance? And in a post-growth world, what might the role of the designer be? (How) can we make things better, rather than worse?
- Simple design, not overly complicated and has a consistency to it.
- The design isn't distracting, it highlights the information it is providing (think this is really important for my project)
- Again similarly to Ecosia presents real photographs, makes the audience feel as though they're being more transparent and therefore more trust worthy
